No. I didn't care as much as I thought I should have either. I probably would be cared more about HP characters too, if I'd read it. I support you :)
I cried harder when I read about HP characters dying than I did when either of my great grandparents died. I didn't know my great grandparents. I've known the people in those books since I was twelve.
